10/3/2007 | Walter Pickel | 60' | Dave and I did a quick video dive. We wanted to make sure we got the organic formations before too much of it is dissolved. There is obviously a very low level of DO as there is no life in the system and the organics are all over the place. Personally, I would like to get a datasond in here to look at this more closely. One would think the low DO levels are due to nitrate runoff.
Eric & Colt did a subsequent dive and think that this is a offset karst window with access to a very strong syphon. |
9/27/2007 | Walter Pickel | 60' | Very interesting first dive. We put in about 400' of line to make a circuit in the cavern. Strange detritus hanging from everything. A couple of leads were found that show promise -- it will just be messy. The water is very clear and after a few more dives this should be Buford-esque. |
