10/15/2019	Diver	Less than 5 ft	Figured i'd check this place out on my way home from cave country. Got permission to park near here and walked to the sink. Looks like the property is on sale so who knows how long anyone will be able to dive here legally. The surface had a lot of trash as would expect with this type of sink/area. I first checked the area for gators before entering the water. I then tied a reel on the surface and descended down to approx. 70 feet. The water was very tannic and could only see approx. 5 ft and very eerie feel to the place. You couldn't see the surface until you hit around 30 feet and then you could see the circular outline of the sink w/ the tannic color which was cool to see. The walls seemed to go straight down and since I was solo and couldn't really see much anyways I stayed around 70 feet. The walls were covered in silt. I didn't encounter a hydrogen sulfide layer nor thermocline on this dive and the visibility didn't get better for me at depth. It was an eerie dive but glad I did this one at least once.
5/27/2007	~G	40	Nice for a quick free dive. The first 15 feet are kinda murky with about 4 feet of vis. At 15 feet the temp nose dives to less than 60 degrees and MAN it is a shock. The temp rises back to toasty 72 around 70 to 80 feet. You can defiantly smell the sulfide but there was no visible layer. We leveled off at about 125 feet and did a circle around the walls. Not as much junk as I thought there would be and the walls were clean of graffiti. We did see a few strange holes in the silt that we may check for flow next time but other than that it was uneventful. We turned on thirds and were thankful that we had no deco stops to make in that ice water layer.
